President and Chief Executive Officer
Peter has been President since September 2009. He was an executive officer and a Director of Ark Fund Management and its affiliated entities from September 2007 until its amalgamation with Redwood on January 1, 2010. From July 2002 until August 2007, Peter worked at TD Waterhouse Canada Inc., most recently as Vice President, Fund Research and Product Due Diligence. Mr. Shippen is a CFA Charterholder, holder of the CAIA designation and earned a BA, Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.
Steve joined Redwood in May 2015 as a portfolio manager for the Redwood Floating Rate Preferred Fund, and Redwood Diversified Equity Fund. He brings with him 10 years of capital markets buy side experience. Prior to joining Redwood, from 2007-2015, Steve was a portfolio manager at Aston Hill Financial, a publicly listed Canadian asset manager, and was instrumental in growing the firm’s AUM from $25MM to $7.5BN. Prior to Aston Hill Financial, Steve was an associate portfolio manager at GE Capital Markets. Steve holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and has an undergraduate degree from the Haskayne School of Business with a major in Finance.
Spencer joined Redwood in January 2015 as a Sales Associate, handling sales reporting and supporting various sales activities. Prior to Redwood, Spencer was a junior project manager at PSG Canada Inc.; A consulting firm dedicated to improving customer retention and increasing efficiencies amongst internal processes. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Degroote School of Business.
Vice President, Sales
Jeff is currently Vice President, Sales at Redwood Asset Management Inc. Jeff works with investment advisors across Canada to provide investment solutions that meet their needs and those of their clients. Previous experience includes business development roles with two Toronto-based hedge funds where Jeff serviced HNW individuals, Family offices and worked with some of Canada’s top investment advisors. Previous to that, Jeff worked in institutional sales at AGF Funds.
Chief Financial Officer
Scott Bartholomew is the Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of Purpose Investments Inc. He has 17 years of experience in the Canadian investment fund industry.
Mr. Bartholomew was an integral part in the development of the Canadian Mutual Fund services business during his 14 years at State Street Fund Services Toronto Inc. as AVP of Fund Administration. During his tenure at Claymore Investments Inc., he was involved in the sale and business integration of Claymore to BlackRock Investments Canada Inc. in 2012.
During his last year with Claymore, Mr. Bartholomew was also Chief Compliance Officer of the firm. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University and is a CFA charterholder.
