Mark Egan, Sub Advisor

Mark Egan, CFA, a managing director and portfolio manager at Reams Asset Management, is the lead portfolio manager of the Scout Core Bond Fund, Scout Core Plus Bond Fund and the Scout Unconstrained Bond Fund. Mark has over 30 years of experience managing fixed income portfolios. Prior to joining Reams in 1990, he was a Portfolio Manager at National Investment Services of America. Mark earned his master’s in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute.

Ed Lam, Sub Advisor

Ed Lam is a portfolio manager and head of research at Somerset Capital Management, an employee-owned Global Emerging Markets manager, specifically structured for active GEM investing. Ed is a graduate of Downing College, Cambridge. Prior to joining Somerset, he was senior analyst at Lloyd George Management London covering Asia for GEM mandates, with a special focus on Taiwan. He joined Somerset Capital Management in November 2007 as head of EMEA and in 2008 became responsible for managing the research process. Since 2009 he has been the lead manager for the Dividend Growth fund.

Peter Shippen, Internal Manager

Mr. Shippen has been President & Chief Compliance Officer since September 2009. He was an executive officer and a Director of Ark Fund Management and its affiliated entities from September 2007 until its amalgamation with Redwood on January 1, 2010. From July 2002 until August 2007, Mr. Shippen worked at TD Waterhouse Canada Inc., most recently as Vice President, Fund Research and Product Due Diligence. Mr. Shippen is a CFA Charterholder, holder of the CAIA designation and earned a BA, Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.

Steve Vannatta, Internal Manager

Steve joined Redwood in May 2015 as a portfolio manager for the Redwood Canadian Preferred Share Fund and Redwood Diversified Equity Fund. He brings with him 10 years of capital markets buy side experience. Prior to joining Redwood, from 2007-2015, Mr. Vannatta was a portfolio manager at Aston Hill Financial, a publicly listed Canadian asset manager, and was instrumental in growing the firms AUM from $25MM to $7.5BN. Prior to Aston Hill Financial, Mr. Vannatta was an associate portfolio manager at GE Capital Markets. Mr. Vannatta holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, and has an undergraduate degree from the Haskayne School of Business with a major in Finance

Craig Basinger, Sub Advisor

Beginning his investment career in 1995, Craig Basinger has focused on investment strategy and managing Canadian and U.S. equity portfolios for Canadian investors. Craig believes that investment success begins with the big picture. If you are in the wrong sectors, the best stock picking in the world can’t save you. Craig spends a considerable amount of analytical energy on identifying economic expectations, allocating assets, and formulating sector views and style/quantitative tilts. He develops and tests these themes continuously. He uses fundamental research in conjunction with a proprietary quantitative scoring system and technical analysis for entry/exit points.

Richard Bernstein, Sub Advisor

Richard Bernstein founded Richard Bernstein Advisors LLC (RBA) in 2009. Mr. Bernstein has over 30 years’ experience on Wall Street, most recently as the Chief Investment Strategist at Merrill Lynch & Co. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch in 1988, he held positions at E.F. Hutton and Chase Econometrics/IDC. A much-noted expert on equity, style and asset allocation, Mr. Bernstein was voted to Institutional Investor magazine’s annual “All-America Research Team” eighteen times, and is one of only forty-nine analysts inducted into the Institutional Investor “Hall of Fame”. Bruce Campbell, Sub Advisor

Bruce Campbell founded StoneCastle Investment Management Inc. in 2001. He has over 23 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to founding StoneCastle Investment Management Inc., Bruce was a Portfolio Manager for some of the largest investment dealers in Canada and the USA. Bruce is a past president of the Okanagan CFA society and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Alberta. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations.

Kris Medina, Sub Advisor

Kris Medina graduated from the University of Michigan in 2005 with a Bachelors of Business Administration with concentrations in Finance & Accounting. He also holds the Charter Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. From July 2005 until February 2007, Mr. Medina was an Investment Banking Analyst at JP Morgan in New York, focused on mergers and acquisitions in the general industrials sector. In February 2007, Mr. Medina joined Ivory Capital, a $4.2 billion value-oriented long-short fund, as an analyst in Los Angeles. Mr. Medina began as a generalist across sectors and geographies. Subsequently, he became responsible for investment opportunities in Europe until 2008. Thereafter, Mr. Medina focused on the formation of Medina Singh Partners.

Douglas Baker, Sub Advisor

Doug is the head of the Preferred Securities Sector Team and a member of the Fixed Income Strategy Committee, which establishes investment policy for all taxable fixed income products. As a senior fixed income portfolio manager, he is the lead manager for Nuveen Asset Management’s Preferred Securities related strategies, as well as a co-portfolio manager for the Multi-Sector, Core Plus Bond, and Inflation Protected Municipal Bond strategies. Doug has managed the Preferred Securities strategy since its inception in 2006, the Multi-Sector and Core Plus strategies since 2016, and the Inflation Protected Municipal Bond strategy since 2011. He also manages Nuveen Asset Management’s municipal derivatives overlay group, where he is responsible for implementing derivatives-based hedging strategies across the Nuveen municipal bond complex.

Francois Bourdon, Sub Advisor

François Bourdon is Chief Investment Solutions Officer at Fiera Capital. In this role, Mr. Bourdon supports our business units in the development of new investment strategies, in collaboration with the CIO Office. He is also responsible for communicating Fiera Capital’s views related to the economy and investments and is jointly responsible for asset allocation decisions as well as for the management of the Global Bond, Multi Strategy Income and other non-traditional income strategies. Mr. Bourdon has 21 years of industry experience and has been with the firm since its inception. Over the course of his career, he has held various positions including Associate Chief Investment Officer, Portfolio Manager - Quantitative Research, Director - Sales Strategies and Product Development as well as a consultant with leading Canadian investment management and life insurance organizations.
