Redwood Asset Management Announces Management Fee Reduction for the Redwood Emerging Markets Dividend Fund

Redwood Asset Management Inc. (“Redwood”) is pleased to announce that the management fee associated with the Redwood Emerging Markets Dividend Fund (“the Fund”) has been reduced by 40%, effective May 1, 2017. As such, the management fee of Series F of the Fund will decrease from 1.50% to 0.90%, and the management fee of Series A will decrease from 2.50% to 1.90%.

“We are very excited to be able to pass along these fairly significant cost savings to investors,” said Peter Shippen, President and Chief Executive Officer of Redwood Asset Management. “Fees are a very important topic for advisors and their clients, and the ability to offer our unique, effective strategy with lower fees than many other actively managed funds with similar mandates is yet another essential step forward in the long-term evolution of our business. Since the transaction with Purpose Investments, we continue to focus on ways to generate additional long-term value for investors, and we believe this fee reduction represents a meaningful way to help our clients achieve their goals.”

Redwood Emerging Markets Dividend Fund is sub-advised by Somerset Capital Management, a specialist manager with a sole focus on global emerging markets and a pioneer in dividend investing in these regions. “Somerset’s active approach and focus on downside protection provide Canadians with a unique way to participate in the high growth and diversification benefits of emerging markets,” continued Mr. Shippen. “And the Fund’s impressive track record, low relative volatility – and now, lower fees – further enhance, in our view, the value proposition the Fund represents.”
